THE FIRST TRAIN OUT
The first train out
Is crowded. It holds
The old the worn the unsteady the uncouth
They look poorer (but the poorest
won't take a train at all)
On the way to their cleaning jobs
'All seats reserved'
And I stand
Different
In my dress
Of privilege
The city will sparkle
Entropy redistributed
Perhaps the poorer can sleep early
