Seeking info on concrete joss paper burners in old HDB estates

Dear Alessandra

We refer to your email of 6 Sep 2021 requesting information on the history of HDB estates and infrastructure.

HDB no longer provides concrete joss paper burners under our current upgrading programmes. Only 4 concrete joss paper burners were provided under the Main Upgrading Programme at Block 201 to 203 Bedok North Street 1. They are still on site and are maintained by the East Coast Town Council who also provides and maintains the portable metal joss paper burners at the common areas in HDB estates.

We do not have more information regarding the joss paper burners. Below are some e-resources on HDB towns and programmes which you may find useful for your research.
